We’re so happy that you’re choosing the cooperative model. Thank you! We look forward to getting to know your family in the coming school year. While September may seem far away, we want to ensure that you feel supported in the meantime.
Communication
Over the summer and throughout the school year, you will receive emails from the following addresses. It could be useful to add them to your email contacts to avoid those messages from going into your “junk” folder:
If you feel like you are not receiving communications, please check that you have your email entered correctly in your Jovial account (where you registered), or email us at info@westsidecooperative.org and ask us to check for you.

June through August:
You’ll receive a welcome email, introducing 2026-2207 board members, also a school calendar attachment. Dates to make note of:
Summer work parties - plan to attend one. (Remember, us parents all pitch in to keep the school running!) These are no-kids events. Help get our school ready for the new year and get to know your fellow co-op parents.
Summer Paperwork party - fill out all necessary paperwork for start of school to ensure that your child is fully onboarded and that you are registered for the parent education portion of the cooperative.
Sweet Treat social - Fun social event to meet fellow WCP members and classmates. This is usually in August.
*Paperwork will need to be completed by the start of school including immunization records - if you need help with this contact our membership team. You’ll hear more about this from our Health and Safety coordinator.

9/3/26: 7:00 PM: Parent Helper training at school - lead by teachers Caitlin & Kaylene
9/5/26: 10:00 AM: All-school Orientation - will go over school basics and rough outlook of the year
9/5/26: 11:00 AM: Class Meetings - meet with your individual class

A sign up sheet will be sent by your Class Representative. This is usually sent sometime the week before class starts OR after orientation & class meetings depending on your rep.

Fundraising Requirement
We will go over this in-depth at our orientation. For now, it’s important to know that each family will be responsible for a $350 fundraising contribution. This can be met with entries into our Friendship Run in April, asking for donations from family members or businesses, or paying for it as a flat fee, by writing a check to the school or paying for via Zeffy.
You may also have more questions than what is covered here in our “quick and dirty” start guide. You can use the WCP Website as a resource or feel free to drop us a line anytime! Sometimes it’s just easier to talk to someone. We get that. You can email any of the addresses at the top of the page, or info@westsidecooperative.org, and it will get passed along to whomever can answer it best.
