Free Choice Time
Children play independently, in small groups, or one-on-one with a teacher or parent. Children have many activities to choose from, such as crafts, painting, construction, cooking, dramatic play, manipulative activities, sensory table, water table, and play dough. Clean up time encourages children to practice responsibility and cooperation.
Circle Time & Small Group Activities
Coming together as a class for greetings, songs, story telling, cooperative games, and dancing offer the opportunity for building social skills, cooperation, creativity and fostering community.
Snack Time
Age-appropriate manners can be practiced while children enjoy their snack and conversation.
Outdoor Play
Children explore their large motor skills in a wonderful outdoor play area that includes a variety of playground equipment, playhouses, sandbox, big toys, bikes, garden boxes and woodlands. Activities include outdoor games, dramatic play and exploration.

Special Events
Opportunities for sharing experiences might include a buddy program with McLane Elementary school students, field trips to a farm, fire station, bakery or pizza parlor, nature walks, roller-skating, picnics, or visits from a doctor, firefighter or other guests with special skills.
Parent Helpers
Parents are active members of the classroom each preschool day. The preschool serves as a laboratory where parents can not only observe children’s growth, development, and behavior, but also improve their own communication skills, practice leading children’s activities, work with other parents, and gain a greater appreciation of children’s creativity.
You will select your schedule to parent help an average of once every two weeks. Your class representative (a designated parent from the class) stays in contact with all parents in your class to assure that there are enough parent helpers throughout the month.
Parent Helper Duties Include:
Arriving 15 minutes before children begin class.
Help prepare areas of the preschool for the children.
You may bring only children enrolled in the class on your parent helping day.
Enjoy the other adults present, but limit adult talk.
Focus attention on children.
Spend time observing and playing with your own child on your parent helping day.
Supervise children for safety at all times.
Stay until clean-up of the classroom is complete.
